تقوم وحدة المناعة بدراسة طبيعة الخلايا المناعية في الصحة والمرض ورصد تطور الأمراض المناعية الذاتية.
تختص الوحدة بعزل الخلايا المناعية للتشخيص والعلاج ودراسات الموت المبرمج للخلايا المناعية. كما أن لعزل وتمايز الخلايا المناعية الشجرية وتطبيقاته وتقدير السيتوكينات والكيموكينات في الاختبارات المناعية أهمية بحثية بحتة وعلى أن تصبح وحدة المناعة رائدة في مجال البحوث المناعية الأساسية والتطبيقية بحيث تقدم أفضل المخرجات البحثية للمجتمع والصحة العامة هي رؤية الوحدة.
